Brown & Holmes (Tamworth) Ltd has recently expanded its current manufacturing capacity through substantial investment in new machinery: including the acquisition of the company’s first EDM wire eroding machine. This was purchased in response to increased customer demand for this service. Wire erosion technology enables components to be machined in their finished state and is a fast and economical method of producing accurate and intricate parts, whatever the batch size.

The company has also recently invested in a new two metre bed vertical CNC machining centre and a CNC Lathe with full driven tooling and bar feed.

Kevin Ward, joint Director of Brown & Holmes, said: “The business has gone from strength to strength over the past two years, despite the uncertain economic climate, and we have been struggling to keep up with demand. These new machines have added greater flexibility to our production capabilities and are just the first stage in our 5-year investment plan.”

Brown & Holmes offers a complete precision workholding and machining service: encompassing design and manufacture, assembly, testing and inspection, tooling support and installation. The company is also the sole UK agent for the FORKARDT workholding range of standard and special rotary power chucks, expanding mandrels and steady rest packages.
